While visiting my sister in Edinburgh we decided to do a very touristy thing and take a bus tour to the Scotland highlands in search for the Loch Ness Monster!
Let me first say that Scotland is beautiful and, if given the chance, I would really like to spend more time in the north. There are people who hike it for weeks – I’m not that adventurous, but a nice road-trip would be lovely.
We had some obligatory rest stops at restaurants/gift shops that were hoping to make a little money. We made a friend named Hamish and heard a lot about the difference between a lake and a loch (which has now slipped my mind). We spent a lot of time in silence between locations. But the views along the way were worth the experience.
We took the loch tour, which I was hoping to be a bit more informative than it was. Given the sheer number of people onboard it was difficult to get as much detail as I would have liked.
Pixie Dust – we got this super touristy photo which was fun.
I am certainly no expert on Scotland. This is just my short account. But I did get enough of a taste to want to go back. I’m not sure when that will be, but I’ll be certain to tell you about it when I do.
